Brendan Higgins - Phoenix, AZ
Brendan sat in his first open wheel car at the age of 2 weeks. At four he watched his first quarter midget race with his dad at South Mountain Park. He was hooked. By the time Brendan was 5 he was already practicing in a 120 restricted quarter midget. Brendan made his novice debut that October. He won 3 of the first 5 races. By late November Brendan was moved from the novice class to Jr. Honda. Brendan won 5 more races and finished an impressive 2nd at the Copper World Classic.

By the time Brendan was 8 he was racing 3 classes of quarter midgets: 120's, Light 160's and Light "B"s. At the end end of Brendan's quarter midget career he was a name to be reckoned with and a driver to beat.

In late 2005 Brendan wanted to run a modified midget. Again, dad and Brendan headed to the track to see the modifieds run. And, again, Brendan was hooked.

In January of 2006 Brendan was making seat time in a 600cc modified midget. Brendan made his debut at Canyon Raceway in the season opener of the Arizona Modified Midget association. By May he had 2 top fives and a heat race win at USA Raceway's 3/8th mile track. Brendan stuggled his first year with equipment problems, but never gave up and made his presents felt in 2007.

In June of 2006 Brendan's team owner (who is also his dad) purchased a 2003 Ellis chassis midget. Brendan began logging seat time in September. In September Brendan also successfully completed the Cory Kruzeman advanced driving school.

In 2007 Brendan began his 1st full season with AMRA (Az. Midget Racing Association). He competed in 12 of their 16 races and compiled an impressive record: 1 main event win, 7 top 5 finishes, 9 top 10 finishes, and went 3 for 3 in trophy dash wins.

The 2007 season was a great year for Brendan.  He captured AMRA's rookie of the year honors and finished 6th in points. With AMMRA he finished 4th in points, he was selected as the most improved driver, presidents club, and track champion. Brendan ran in 16 of the 23 races and had 3 main event wins, 14 top 5, 16 top 10, and 14 heat race wins.

Brendan also works very hard on his studies for school where he has a 3.6 GPA. And working with his crew chief Wayne building his new Midget and Sprint Car.

For the 2008 season Brendan will concentrate on his Midget. But will also make his debute in a 360 winged and non-winged sprint car.

Brendan sees his future in Nascar.
